Low Energy Designs led a full lighting retrofit for Thermo Fisher’s laboratory, integrating Hytronik control technology to meet extreme requirements in precision, efficiency, and UV safety.
Thermo Fisher Scientific, a global leader in scientific research services, faced a highly technical challenge at their Horsham facility: replacing a lighting system with amber filters that protected UV-sensitive products, but caused heat build-up, frequent failures, and poor visual conditions.
To solve it, they turned to Low Energy Designs, who engineered a custom LED luminaire with fully integrated control.
The key? Combining advanced LED technology with Hytronik’s smart control solution, capable of increasing light levels, optimising energy use, and ensuring strict compliance with UV safety standards.
This wasn’t just a retrofit—it was a precision operation. And Hytronik control was the scalpel.
