SEVEN TOWERS. ZERO CABLES. TOTAL BLUETOOTH CONTROL AT ALMODÔVAR’S FOOTBALL PITCH

In Almodôvar, Portugal, it wasn’t just about turning the lights on. It was about orchestrating them.

But there was a catch: not a single cable could be run between the towers.

No trenches. No civil works. Just well-thought-out technology.

LTX supplied the new LED lights.

MCS delivered the intelligence and system design.

Hytronik brought the wireless muscle.

Now, seven lighting towers operate like a neural network. Without laying a single cable.

Magic? Not quite. It’s Koolmesh.

A robust, distributed Bluetooth network that connects sensors, control panels and relays with surgical precision.

The range? A confident 150 metres – no sweat.

THE CHALLENGE

Replace old luminaires with new LED fixtures (LTX)
Control 7 towers with no control cabling
Enable scene management based on event type
Ensure drivers fully disconnect when switched off, per manufacturer requirements
Keep the installation simple, reliable and scalable

THE SOLUTION

6 HBTD15 antennas, DALI-compatible, Zhaga Book 18 – one per tower as individual controllers

Official Match (100 %)

Regular Match (70 %)

Training(50 %)

Maintenance (30 %)

An additional HBTD15 antenna mounted on an external wall acts as a repeater – bridging 150 metres between the HBP02 panel and all towers

Due to high-power luminaires, the lighting supplier required drivers to be fully disconnected when off. Each tower includes an HBTD8200VFC relay for power cut-off.

THE RESULTS

• Full wireless Bluetooth control in a sports venue, with zero ducting

• Stable communication over 150 m between sensors and panel – tested and confirmed

• Intelligent control by tower, zone or site-wide

• Custom scenes for every event type – reconfigurable in seconds, instantly switchable from the panel

• Energy savings above 50% (per LTX data)

• Ready to scale: future add-ons like daylight harvesting or remote control via Gateway are just a step away
