Facility manager reviewing building energy data in a daylit office with active lighting and HVAC

Energy Monitoring & Optimisation

See which rooms and systems are using energy - then act on the waste.

Measure selected lighting and HVAC energy, compare it with occupancy, schedules and device status, and identify the rooms that are running when they do not need to be.

Fixed schedules The room is empty. The lighting and HVAC may still be running.

Find Energy Waste

Empty rooms can still consume energy because the system follows a timetable.

Meeting rooms, classrooms, offices and entire floors may still be lit, heated or cooled when nobody is there. A utility bill shows the total. It does not show which room, which system or which hours created it.

Which rooms are actually occupied?

Compare the room schedule with live or recorded occupancy information.

Where is energy being used after hours?

Review lighting and selected HVAC energy by building, floor, zone or circuit.

Did the change reduce consumption?

Compare the readings before and after a schedule, control or maintenance change.

Room Data in Context

Energy meter shows consumption. Room data shows what was happening at the time.

Put supported energy readings beside occupancy, indoor conditions and equipment status so the reason for unusual demand is easier to investigate.

Occupancy

Occupied, vacant or people count

Indoor conditions

Temperature, humidity and CO₂

Lighting

Energy, ON/OFF and dimming status

HVAC

Selected energy and operating status

Devices

Online, warning, alarm or fault

Schedule

Working hours, evenings and weekends

01 / Measure

Record the selected electrical load

Energy meter collects the energy data.

02 / Connect

Bring room and device data together

Use the project-defined Modbus, BACnet or supervisory route.

03 / Find

Locate the room and hours that need attention

Compare energy with occupancy, schedules and operating status.

04 / Check

Review the result after a change

Confirm whether consumption or running hours were reduced.

Available points depend on the selected devices, meter arrangement, interfaces and agreed project point list.

Monitoring & Fault Management

Know which zone or device needs attention before the engineer arrives.

Combine supported device status, alarms, setpoints and operating data for first-line monitoring, diagnostics and basic O&M supervision.

Operating normally No immediate action shown
Alarm or warning Review the affected room or device
Device offline Check communication or power

Scheduling & Building Automation

Stop weekday operation from continuing into evenings, weekends and holidays.

At supervisory level, agreed schedules can coordinate connected zones. Operator overrides, IAQ requirements and occupancy can then be handled within the project-defined control hierarchy.

Weekdays

Run each connected zone to its agreed occupied hours.

After hours

Reduce unnecessary operation when rooms are vacant.

Weekends & holidays

Use a separate timetable instead of repeating the weekday pattern.

Operator override

Allow authorised staff to respond to events, maintenance or unusual use.

Where to Start

Start with spaces where occupancy and operating hours change.

These are the areas where fixed schedules are most likely to differ from real room use.

Energy Metering Products

Measure the selected lighting and HVAC electrical circuits.

HMT01 records electricity use. HMTAC01 measures current on an existing cable without disconnecting the circuit.
