SUCCESS STORY: LIGHTING SYSTEM FOR BUTLIN’S, DESIGNED TO BE MANAGED AND MAINTAINED INTERNALLY

In collaboration with JB Hopkins of Segensworth Fareham, Hytronik delivered a comprehensive lighting solution for the new activity centre at Butlin’s, PLAYXPERIENCE, in Bognor Regis.

A £15 million project covering 50,000 square feet over two levels.

THE CHALLENGE

Butlin’s required a lighting system that met the following criteria:

• Easy to maintain: Avoiding the need for specialised technical staff or high future maintenance costs.

• No complex systems: Centralised solutions for general lighting were rejected in favour of simple and functional devices.

• Safe maintenance: The system needed to allow quick isolation of power and facilitate swift interventions when required.

THE SOLUTION

Quick Connection Boxes

• To provide fast and secure electrical connections, particularly in high-traffic areas.

• Reduced cable complexity, enabling a clean and organised installation ideal for spaces such as the arcade and relaxation zones.

PIR Lowbay Sensors

• To automate lighting based on motion and natural light levels in areas like bathrooms and service zones.

• Delivered efficient and comfortable lighting, optimising energy consumption in frequently used spaces, without requiring complex controls.

Power-Supply Connectors

• To manage standard and emergency luminaires, ensuring an organised and safe electrical system.

• Simplified installation and clearly distinguished critical connections, enabling quick and safe isolation for maintenance.
