Euro Packaging, a benchmark for sustainable packaging in Birmingham, was struggling with very low light levels (58–116 lux) and frequent failures of its LED “corn” lights—driving up maintenance costs and compromising safety. THE SOLUTION

Hytronik HMW32 HF High-Bay Sensor

Connected to the Low Energy Designs Sky Panels via RJ12, requiring no extra cabling.

• Daylight harvesting: The sensor measures light from rooflights and dims or boosts output to maintain 350 lux without waste.

• Motion detection: Detects presence up to 15 m and switches panels on, dims or off after a vacancy period.

• Plug-and-play commissioning: Calibrate thresholds and scenes in minutes with a single IR button or by rotating the integrated switch.

Optimised Fixture Count

Only 112 Sky Panel 66 units replaced 125 corn lights on the same mounts, concentrating luminous power into fewer, more reliable devices and reducing failure points.

Fully Distributed Architecture Each Sky Panel + HMW32 operates autonomously—no central controller or software needed—making future expansions or relocations simple and cable-free.
