Modern European commercial building with connected lighting and building systems

BUILDING CONTROL FEATURE

Open Building Integration

Three practical routes from room-level data to building supervision.

Connect Koolmesh lighting, sensors and room devices to established BMS environments through Bluetooth gateways, LoRaWAN or a FIN-based supervisory controller.

ROUTE 01

Bluetooth to Multi-Protocol BMS Route

Koolmesh Bluetooth-to-BMS gateway integration makes the lighting network BMS-ready.

One gateway. Multiple open protocols.

  • Supports BACnet, MQTT and Modbus.
  • Transmits field-device data to BMS platforms in real time.
  • Provides a built-in IP Web UI for configuration, monitoring and remote management.
  • Allows the lighting system to interoperate with wider building controls.

Integration path

  • Koolmesh devices communicate with the gateway over Bluetooth.
  • Ethernet carries BACnet/IP, Modbus or MQTT data to the BMS layer.
ROUTE 02

LoRaWAN Wireless Device Route

A practical retrofit route for legacy buildings or projects with wiring constraints.

Fits perfectly into a controls cabinet.

Remote secure access

Via FIN Edge2Cloud or the local network.

Secure local-network access

Hosted in Europe for engineering and operation.

FIN Framework

Edge2Cloud

Browser-based FIN building management interface

Fully browser-based user interface for engineering and operation.

What if the gateway or cloud goes down?

Control is executed at terminal level. A Bluetooth mesh distributes logic across nodes, so local lighting control continues if the gateway or cloud is unavailable. LoRaWAN devices communicate through their gateway, so resilience must be handled in the project design.

Bluetooth Mesh

Local logic and scene control keep working independently of cloud supervision.

LoRaWAN Layer

Gateway-dependent communication is addressed through system architecture and operational planning.

Encrypted Channels

Encrypted communication and secure device commissioning across every layer.

Role-based Access

Operator, integrator and administrator roles with scoped permissions.

Signed Firmware & OTA

Signed firmware and controlled over-the-air updates.

Network Segmentation

Separation between field, integration and supervisory layers.

COMPATIBLE PRODUCTS

Choose the right gateway or controller for the integration route.

Connect Koolmesh Bluetooth Mesh, LoRaWAN devices and building systems through the gateway or controller that fits the project.
