Since 2015, Koolmesh has been delivering tailored Bluetooth IoT lighting control solutions
— seamlessly integrated into LED drivers, sensors, dimmers, and touch panels.
Why is lighting control still a challenge?
Lighting control systems are often:
- Too expensive – due to complex wiring and high-cost components
- Too fragmented – with many competing protocols and no clear standard for offices, hotels, schools, or commercial buildings
- Too difficult to commission – typically requiring specialist integrators or system experts
These issues cause delays and frustration, especially in technical lighting projects where reliability, scale, and long-term compatibility are essential.

Koolmesh Architecture
— How It Works
Every Koolmesh device forms part of a decentralized Bluetooth mesh network, requiring no central controller.
You can commission the system directly from your smartphone using the free Koolmesh app.
For remote access and commissioning, simply add a gateway—no need to revisit the site.
Gateways also allow real-time monitoring of system health and performance.
Integration with third-party systems is supported, with BACnet currently in development.

FAQs — Your Koolmesh Questions Answered
Got questions? We’ve got answers! Check out our FAQ for quick solutions to the most common Koolmesh queries, from device compatibility to remote maintenance and network limits.
A project is like a folder that helps users organize their networks based on specific rules. There is no limit to the number of networks in one project.
Koolmesh stores all data locally on devices and synchronizes it with the server. The data remains stored permanently unless you delete it manually.
No, Koolmesh app does not currently support bulk mesh OTA. However, if the devices are the same model (e.g. 10 pcs of HBIR29), downloading the firmware once for the first device will help accelerate the process for the others.
Koolmesh will list out all the networks under your account in “My networks”. You can change the network by clicking the network name.
Yes, the Koolmesh app supports offline commissioning, except for logging into the account and creating a new network. This means users must log in to the Koolmesh app and create a new network before performing offline commissioning onsite. Please note that after completing offline commissioning, users should not log out until they are in a location with internet access. For more details, please refer to page 05 of the App User Manual 2.2.
In Koolmesh app, the scene will never activate itself automatically. User can activate the scene by manual control, by motion sensor, or by schedule. More detail please refer to page 15 of the App User Manual 2.2.
Open loop: The luminaire’s output percentage is based on natural light lux level. Daylight Sensors (Photocell Advanced) should not be affected by artificial lights in the network.
Closed loop: The combination of luminaire’s brightness output and ambient lux level will be approximately equal to the pre-set target lux value; the sensor actively adjusts the luminaires in the active scene to maintain that lux level via a feedback loop. Sensors are affected by artificial lights in the scene.
It depends on the product features. The DUAL sensors, occupancy motion sensors, microwave motion sensors, and some of the PIR sensors are adjustable. Please reach out to your Sales Representative to confirm.
