Discover how Koolmesh works — and how you can use it in your next project

  • No license fees
  • No hidden costs
  • Create and manage lighting scenes easily in schools, offices, industry, or any large building project
  • Just a powerful wireless platform that brings drivers, sensors, and switches together into one reliable mesh

Why Wireless Lighting Control Matters

For years, wired control systems dominated the market. They were powerful — but also expensive, complex, and slow to adapt. Many companies built their success on cables, only to be outpaced by competitors embracing wireless.

This video tells the story of how the market is shifting, and why facility managers, consultants, and engineers are choosing Bluetooth mesh as the smarter, more flexible solution. Koolmesh is Hytronik’s answer: professional wireless lighting control made simple, reliable, and affordable.

What is koolmesh

— Koolmesh is Hytronik’s Bluetooth mesh app, built on the global SIG standard.

It connects drivers, sensors, and switches into a smart wireless network, so every device works together to create the perfect lighting scenes for your building. Flexible, reliable, and affordable — Koolmesh brings professional lighting control to the next level.

Easy Setup & Full Features

Commission projects quickly with a clean, minimalist interface. From simple daylight on/off thresholds to complex schedules and linked scenes, Koolmesh covers every technical need without complexity.

Dashboards & Heatmaps

Turn sensor and driver data into actionable insights. Visualize energy use and occupancy through heat maps, measure real powerline or DALI driver consumption, or work with smart estimations.

Multi-Device Access

Use the Koolmesh app on both Android and iOS for on-site commissioning. Add the web app for remote management and full project overview.

Open Standards & 3rd-Party Integration

Built on global standards including Bluetooth SIG Mesh and Bluetooth NLC, Koolmesh ensures long-term compatibility. It can run stand-alone, connect on-premise with BACnet, or scale through cloud integrations.

Emergency Control

Automate all functional and duration tests. Keep emergency lighting installations fully compliant and reporting-ready for any incident.

Remote Control

Adjust parameters, update scenes, and troubleshoot without traveling to site. Remote access reduces downtime and simplifies maintenance — full remote commissioning is our next milestone.

Predictive Maintenance

Koolmesh is fully compatible with D4i drivers (Parts 251–253). Capture and store data on asset management, energy usage, diagnostics, and maintenance to anticipate issues before they happen.

Safety, Security & Compliance

Koolmesh is designed to meet the highest international cybersecurity and data protection standards:

  • GDPR Compliant – All data from devices and cloud services is collected, processed, and protected under EU data regulations.

  • Multi-Layer Security – From device-level encryption to communication channels and AWS cloud infrastructure.

  • Future-Proof Compliance – Prepared for the upcoming EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and UK PSTI, with certification roadmap in place.

  • CE and RED Exemption – Certified and documented under EU directives, including EN 18031 RED compliance exemptions.

How Koolmesh Works?

Koolmesh is built on Bluetooth SIG Mesh and Bluetooth NLC — proven global standards that make every device part of a smart, self-healing network. This means your lighting system stays reliable, flexible, and scalable without the cost or complexity of wired control.

Mesh Network of Devices

Each driver, sensor, and switch becomes a node in the mesh. Devices talk to each other directly — so if one fails, the rest of the network keeps working.

Scalable Projects

A single mesh can manage up to 500 devices. Multiple meshes can be linked together for very large projects, covering entire buildings or campuses.

Local First, Cloud Optional

The system works independently without internet. Add a Koolmesh Gateway to enable remote control, cloud analytics, and integrations with building management systems.

Always On, Always Secure

The network is encrypted and self-healing, ensuring stable communication and long-term reliability.

FAQs — Your Koolmesh Questions Answered

Got questions? Check out our most common Koolmesh queries.

1.How does Koolmesh differ from wired lighting systems (like DALI or KNX)?

Koolmesh eliminates the need for expensive cabling and complex commissioning. It offers the same professional features as wired systems, but with faster setup, lower costs, and easier scalability.

2. How many devices can I connect in one project?

A single Koolmesh network can handle up to 500 devices. For larger projects, multiple networks can be linked together across buildings or campuses.

In a normal application, the number of Hytronik Bluetooth devices per network can be up to about 200 sensors + 400 receiving devices (nearly 600 devices in total). In applications where the motion sensors are not too often triggered, and daylight sensors are not set to be working everywhere and sending daylight information too often by everybody, the total amount of devices may succeed to 400 sensors + 600 receiving devices (a total of 1000 devices). However, it is fully depending on the installation environment and installation distance. Different Bluetooth nodes also can affect this capacity: the fewer motion sensors the larger the capacity. For larger projects, multiple networks can be linked together across buildings or campuses by using the “Multi-network gateway synchronous control" feature on Koolmesh app.

3. Does Koolmesh need internet to work?

Koolmesh system supports offline commissioning. However, users must log in to the Koolmesh app and create a new network before performing offline commissioning onsite.

4. What happens if one device fails?

Because Koolmesh is a true mesh network, communication is shared across all devices. If one fails, the rest continue to operate normally.

5. Can I integrate Koolmesh with existing building systems?

Yes. Koolmesh supports integration with BACnet, DALI, and other industry standards, either on-premise or via the cloud.

6. How secure is the Koolmesh system?

Koolmesh is GDPR compliant and built with multi-layer security — from device encryption to secure cloud infrastructure. It is also aligned with upcoming EU and UK cybersecurity regulations.

7. How does Koolmesh support maintenance of my building’s lighting?

Koolmesh provides dashboards, diagnostics, and predictive maintenance with D4i driver data. You can monitor energy usage, detect issues early, and reduce downtime.

8. Is Koolmesh suitable for large-scale projects like hospitals or industrial sites?

Yes. Koolmesh is designed for professional projects of any size, from classrooms to factories, offices, hospitals, and multi-site campuses.

9. What do I need to start a project with Koolmesh?

You’ll need Hytronik devices (drivers, sensors, switches) and the Koolmesh app (iOS, Android, or web). A gateway is optional for remote and cloud integrations.

10. What support or training does Hytronik offer for Koolmesh?

We provide resources like video tutorials, documentation, and project support. For larger projects, our technical team can guide commissioning and integration.
